Princess Park, North Van Wednesday Evening Training
May 6th 2015 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Organizers: Adam Woods (Coach), Joanne Woods (Event Director), Karen Lachance (Membership)
Map: Princess Park
Description
Come to Princess Park to royally celebrate the birth of Princess Cambridge with some PIE orienteering. Since this is Prince William and Duchess Kate’s second baby, the PIE course will be a two person relay with pink coloured pin flags for controls. The start/finish area will also be the map exchange area with team members returning to the centre of the pie after each slice to exchange the map with their partner. Each person will navigate a total of 8 slices of the pie, with each slice of the pie about 200m to 400m in distance. Each team member will visit each control. Beginners can do the PIE course as a conventional point to point of about 1.5 km in length. Those who need extra exercise should also sign up for the Extra course (about 1.9 km long with lots of up and down, orange pin flags).
Please sign up by Tuesday night so we print enough maps.
Schedule
6:15 pm - Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners
6:30 pm - Starts begin for both courses
8:00 pm - Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish by Course Closure Time.
