Robert Burnaby Park Junior Festival Why Just Run

GVOC is hosting the 2014 Junior Festival at Robert Burnaby Park. We are inviting young people, their families, friends and regular GVOC members to a fun day of orienteering. This is a great opportunity to introduce family, friends and anybody who has wanted to try to orienteering.
Robert Burnaby Park is a fantastic forested hillside filled with ravines, open fields and a complicated trail network. It provides interesting and challenging orienteering for all abilities.
There is beginner, intermediate and 2 advanced courses depending on age and experience. There is a special invitation to Cadets to participate.
Please register by Friday April 11.
Other fun activities are planned e.g Jungle O, Maze O, Easter egg hunt and ??
There will be club members on hand to provide instruction for people who are new to the sport as well!
Parking/Start/Finish Locations
You can park in the parking lot by the swimming pool off of Hill Ave.
Bring a BBQ or picnic to enjoy after the race.
Registration will open at 9am. The first start will be at 10am. Course closes at 1 pm. Everyone must report to the finish by 1 p.m.

GVOC Membership
Everyone who participates must be a member of GVOC. A GVOC membership lasts until the end of 2014 and includes free Wednesday night orienteering events throughout the year.

Safety Precautions:
Creek crossings can be muddy and slippery. Bring an extra pair of dry shoes and socks.
Carry a whistle for safety.
