Hi everyone,
Please join us for this week’s WET at New Westminster’s Queen's Park. It is gorgeous this time of year with trees starting to bloom and greenery abound.
In preparation for the Forest Training series, this week’s WET is focused on bearing practice. We are offering two courses: a longer, harder one and a shorter, easier one that is beginner friendly. Both courses give you an opportunity to practice taking a bearing, and you won’t get lost since this park offers great visibility, as well as lots of trails and open spaces.
The long course is about 4.5km and the short is just over 2km in length.
Given the rain we’ve had over the last few days, the ground is likely to be wet and soggy in some areas, so bring a change of shoes and socks.
We’ll meet at the Queen’s Park Picnic Shelter #1 in the east part of the park. There is a larger parking lot nearby, the entrance is off 1st Street. The park is also easily accessible by bus via 6th Avenue and McBride.
There are bathrooms close to the start/finish, as well as several playgrounds. You’ll also see a fitness circuit on your run, in case you need a little more exercise at the end!
Registration is open! Use this link to register, or click the big green Register button. See who's coming here.
Hope to see you there!
