Mike Rascher Special (Central Park, Burnaby) Wednesday Evening Training
April 18th 2018 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Organizers: Mike Rascher (Event Director), Jules Tough (Membership), Holly Hendrigan (Assistant)
Map: Central Park
Description
Classic point to point in Burnaby`s Central Park. Groups of 3 controls to pick with some longer legs in between to get some route choice/think time. Some of the smaller trails in the middle are really wet - bring a dry pair of shoes and socks. Some of the trail entrances are being hidden with fallen branches, others have a lot of windfall on them making some navigation a challenge.
Schedule
I won't be able to get to the course early from work, so setup might be a little late.
6:45pm Starts
8pm Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish before leaving.
Courses
Longer (5k), Not so long (3k) and something not so hard (2.5 k on bigger trails).
Safety Precautions
Always use good judgement and common sense. Carry a whistle at all times. Headlamps are essential to see and be seen. Take care when crossing roads and parking lots. Watch out for other runners, cyclists, and trail/sidewalk users.
Parking/Start Location:
There's a parking lot on the E side of the Swanguard Stadium.
Meet at the Bandstand rain or shine just 150m S of the SE corner of the parking lot.
