Description
Results are now posted - sorry for the delay.
Schedule
6:15pm Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners
6:30pm Starts
8pm Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish before leaving.
Courses
The beginner course is about 2.2km and is suitable for someone new to orienteering or someone who just wants a short run and doesn't want any chance of getting lost!
The expert course measures about 3.2km but I suspect is actually a fair bit longer. This course would also be good for an intermediate as long as you are not inclined to be too adventurous!
Safety Precautions
Always use good judgement and common sense. Carry a whistle at all times. Headlamps are essential to see and be seen. Take care when crossing roads and parking lots. Watch out for other runners, cyclists, and trail/sidewalk users.
Parking/Start Location
The start is on Crown Drive, just south of SW Marine Drive. There is a small parking lot here but otherwise you will have to find parking on local streets.
Post-Event Dining
TBD
