Organizers: Denis Anisimov (Event Director), Caoimhe Murray (Controller)

Map: North False Creek

This week we're going Downtown for some multi-level running around the BC Place and the Rogers Arena

Course

There will be three courses of the varying technical and physical difficulty:

  1. Beginner - introductory course along the seawall, 1.4km
  2. Intermediate - route choice and map reading practice with some multi-level running, 2.5km, less physical compared to the Advanced course
  3. Advanced - route choice and map reading practice, might require paying attention to the map to avoid being trapped, lots of running, including up and down, unnecessary physical, 4.2km

Safety

Road safety: Intermediate and Advanced courses include road crossings, but the courses are designed to avoid crossing all the major roads. Use crosswalks if necessary, wear bright clothes to stay visible.

Bringing a whistle is recommended. It's starting to get dark earlier, so you might want to bring a headlamp as well.

Start

We will start at 6:30 PM. Participants are welcome to come at 6:15 if they would like a short introduction to orienteering.

The start is at the gazebo at the south-west corner of the park.

Parking

As always, parking in the downtown is tough, so taking a bus/train or biking is recommended. For parking, streets nearby (Pacific Blvd, Marinaside Crescent, Cooperage Way) all have some free public street parking.
