Map: Memorial West


Memorial Park is a very small area and the map scale is 1:2500 so be prepared for getting to the controls very quickly. The format will be 3 loops of 1.2-1.5 kms each and the courses will be on the same map. One extra challenge is a large pool of standing water in the SW of the park - I doubt it will disappear by Wed and it will be marked on the map. Your choice - go round or get quite wet.


6:15pm Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners

6:30pm Starts

8:00 pm Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish before leaving.


Safety Precautions

Always use good judgement and common sense. Carry a whistle at all times. Headlamps are essential to see and be seen. Take care when crossing roads and parking lots. Watch out for other runners, cyclists, and trail/sidewalk users.

Parking/Start Location:

NE corner of Dunbar Community Centre - there is a little bit of shelter if it is raining. A bike rack is opposite and parking is just behind the community centre.

Post-Event Dining
