Not So Tricky

Long and Tricky

Organizers: Robyn Rennie (Event Director), Bruce Rennie (Controller), Graeme Rennie (Coach), Jules Tough (Membership), Joanne Woods (Membership)

Map: Capilano University

Thanks to everyone who came out on a lovely evening. Thanks for trialing my simplified timing system. It certainly made it easier for the organizer and you all got to practise using the SI units.

Also big thanks to Joanne Woods who donated the delicious remains of her retirement cake to the event. It was much appreciated by the participants.

This week's event is on the updated Capilano University map. Meet at the North Shore BMX parking lot which is south of the soccer fields at Interriver park. Take Lillooet road off HWY 1 north. Continue past the first Capilano University turnoff and turn west onto Interriver Road. Take the left hand arm of this road at the soccer fields. The BMX parking lot is on the right going down the hill. You cannot approach this parking lot from the south (off Premier Street) as there is a locked gate at the end of Interriver road.

We are offering three courses that are a mixture of long orienteering legs and short complex sprint orienteering legs. This will be a good warmup for those going to the Eastern Canadian and Canadian Championships. Members who are looking for MOMAR training should sign up for the "Not so Tricky" course as there is no sprint orienteering at MOMAR.

Also if you own your own SI stick please bring it with you as we will be using SI start and finish units for timing. If you don't own an SI unit we will have plenty to share around.
