Thanks to all who came out before the rain! Someone left behind a small black Sierra Designs fleece. If this was you, let me know so it can find its way home.

6:15pm Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners

6:30pm Starts

8pm Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish before leaving.

There will be two point-to-point courses. One will be shorter and is suitable for beginners. The other will be longer (around 4.5km) and contain a combination of short, technical legs, route choice legs, and simpler legs where you can push your running speed. Make sure you change your speed and thinking appropriately!

Safety Precautions

Carry a whistle at all times. It will be dark! Bring a headlamp. The advanced course will course from the PNE to New Brighton Park. There are mandatory crossings to indicate where to cross safely.

Parking/Start/Finish Locations

We will start near Renfrew and Dundas at the southwest corner of Pacific Coliseum.   Check out the map below for specifics. It is a relatively short walk from several bus stops (e.g 4, 14, 10, 16, 135). Parking should be available just north of the start or on residential streets, but make sure you pay attention to all parking signs.
