David Lam Park / Yaletown Wednesday Evening Training
September 21st 2016 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Organizer: Jeremy Gordon (Event Director)
Map: Yaletown
This week's WET will be at Yaletown / David Lam Park, on False Creek North
Description
Enjoy this water-side, urban park in the heart of the historic Yaletown district.
Schedule
6:15pm Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners
6:30pm Starts
8pm Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish before leaving.
Courses
There will be a shorter Beginners ~2km point-to-point course and a longer ~4km course. The longer course may be point-to-point or, possibly, "dog-bones".
For a "dog bones" course, controls are in pairs and must be visited as a pair, in either direction, and pairs can be done in any order.
Safety Precautions
Carry a whistle at all times.
The roads in this area are very busy so watch for traffic and pedestrians at all time.
Parking/Start/Finish Locations
Meet at the Roundhouse Community Centre, by the old railway switching circle in the middle. There is an overhang there (I think) in case of rain.
