Map: Pacific Spirit Park
Thank you all for braving the rain and coming out to Pacific Spirit Park! I hope you all enjoyed yourselves. A big thank you to all our volunteers for helping out today - these events aren't possible without them.

Welcome to the first "Why Just Run" event of 2016! This event is in the lovely Pacific Spirit Park, and is a "choose your own adventure" format. You will be given a map with lots of checkpoints on, and you have either 1 hour or 2 hours to visit as many checkpoints as possible. The person with the most points at the end wins!
There will be a mass start at 10:00 am so please come early to register. Don't forget you'll need to sign up for 2016 GVOC membership as well if you haven't done so already.
Pacific Spirit Park is a very special area, and we thank Metro Vancouver for allowing our event to take place. Our permit does not allow for off-trail usage, so please do not cut through the forest!
The Start/Finish area will have water during the event, and is central to the map if you need to pop in for hydration. Snacks and water will be provided after your run. Instruction and training is available before the start for first-timers or those who need a refresher. Compasses can be borrowed free of charge.
Meet location and parking
The start is located off West 16th Avenue, in the parking lot by the ranger station - see the map below. There is free parking in that lot and along 16th.
All members MUST carry a whistle while on the course. Whistles can be purchased from the registration table for $1.
