2-Man(neken Pis?) Relay

Organizers: Catherine Hoofd (Event Director), Gilles Delmee (Event Director)

Map: Musqueam Park

THANKS everyone for your enthousiasm and fun spirit last night, we had a great time, and it looked like you enjoyed our crazy bonus loop idea!

After the 4 loops-relay (made tricky by some extra green, the ravine and controls pretty much everywhere), each team had to do 4 controls as a memory-O with the (slight) twist that the runner memorizing the control was not the one going to look for it, but instead had to tell his partner (who hadn't seen the control location and had no more map) the directions to go pick it up and find the letter attached to it...

A fun way to practice visualization, simplification and have a clear plan on how to get to a control (Ok, those justifications came after we had the idea, it seemed mostly like fun and a good way to decide between eventual winners after the relay!)

Description

By now, you probably already know that we LOVE relays... To make the best of this tiny area, we will organize a 2-men relay. Each team member will run 2 loops and there will be a BONUS loop. Expect high speed, butterflies, U-turns and lots of cheering.

To make it fair, we will make the teams right on the start line... So just register for the relay, and we will make the rest! The bribe starts now, but remember the "Jury" will only accept chocolate or beers ;)

Schedule

6:15 pm - Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners

6:30 pm - Start begins for beginners

6:45 pm - MASS START Relay!

8:00 pm - Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish by Course Closure Time.

Meeting point
