How to Plan a WET and Design Better Courses

Do you want to learn how to organize a WET event but you don't know where to start? Have you put on a WET event but felt unsure about finding a map or using the planning software? Have you planned a course that you felt could have been better if you had had afew tips? This Monday, January 10, GVOC will be offering a free How to Plan a WET and Design Better Courses session.
The course will guide members through all of the steps necessary to plan a successful WET event and many of the topics discussed will be helpful in planning larger events as well.
It will cover the technical aspects of planning (updating the website, finding the map file, using the course planning software, planning good courses), as well as, practical information on obtaining equipment, printing maps, and what needs to be done on the day of the event.
We will spend a largeportion of the time discussing what makes a well-plannedorienteering course, common course planning mistakes, strategies for course planning, and variations on the traditional course.
The lecture will be held at the Orams' House (5626 Alma st Vancouver, near the corner of 41st and Dunbar). Please arrive by 8pm.
