Organizer: Russell Porter (Event Director)
The UBC-Acadia WET will start from the Acadia Community Center at 6:30pm on Wed Nov 4th.
The 4km course is a bit shorter than usual due to the fact that it does not leave the small Acadia area, but the actual running distance should be close to 6km because there are lots of buildings to run around. There are a couple side streets to cross on the course and lots of small park areas and apartment blocks.
From 16th/SW Marine Drive: Go north on Wesbrook and turn right at Fairview Ave. Parking is in stalls on left side of Fairview about halfway from Wesbrook to the community center. Continue on foot along Fairview Ave past a gate and cross a small park, on your right (south side) is the community center where the start is.
From 4th/University Boulevard (10th): Go south on Wesbrook and turn left at Fairview Ave. Parking is in stallson left side of Fairview about halfway from Wesbrook to the communitycenter. Continue on foot along Fairview Ave past a gate and cross a small park, on your right (south side) is the community center where the start is.
Parking is quite limited close to the start - just about 10 metered pay parking ($3/hour) spots. See above for directions to find them. I imagine there is more within a 5 minute walk. Your best option is to bike, carpool or take the bus!
Course Close Time
The course closes at 7:45pm - make sure to bring a headlamp because it is going to be even darker than recently due to daylight savings!
I might have missed something here because this is the first time I have ran an event.
