Organizers: Joanne Woods (Event Director), Stan Woods (Controller), Loïc Baud (Course Planner)

Have you been attending Wednesday Evening Trainings (WETs) in city parks and need more of a challenge? Do you need practice reading contours or navigating by looking at the relief in the terrain? Are you wanting to improve your forest orienteering? Are you considering going to the BC Orienteering Champs? If you answered yes to just one of those questions, then this is one WET you will not want to miss!

Here is a sample section of the Ioco map

There will be 3 loops.

1. A forest map with the trails removed from the map, so you can use the contours, the vegetation and the cliffs/boulders to help navigate. Course length 1 km

2. A forest map with the trails and vegetation removed from the map, so you can use the contours and the cliffs to help you navigate. Course length 1.7 km

3. A forest map with the trails, vegetation and cliffs removed from the map, so you have only the contours to navigate with. Course length 2.3 km

Do just one or all 3 of the loops.

CAR POOLING: We realize it maybe challenging for people who take transit to the WETs to get to Ioco on a Wednesday night so lets help get as many people to this event as possible. If you are driving, please offer rides to those who use public transit. For those people using public transit, take the sky train to Inlet Center station in Port Moody and anyone who is driving can pick up people and bring them to Ioco. If you need a ride or offer to drive someone, we will ask for your phone number and permission to share that with any other club member.

REGISTER BY Tuesday at midnight so we have time to go to work, print maps, and put out the controls and be ready for the WET by 6:00.

WHERE: Parking will be in the CPTA parking lot that was used for the June 16 Ioco event.
