Trout Lake Wednesday Evening Training

Come out to Trout Lake for this weeks WET! The Trout Lake map is a mix of wide-open urban park, giving an excellent opportunity for practicing taking bearings and travelling along those bearings.

The registration is handled by a third-party system 2mev and it will ask you to create an account if you don't already have one. You'll be also able to become a member pay your membership fees during the registration process.

CoursesAll courses are beginner friendly, and participants have the option to do 1, 2, or 3 loops, each being roughly 2 km in length, so the only difference between the options is distance.
6:00 pm Starts and Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners
8:00 pm Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish before leaving.
Always use good judgement and common sense. Carry a whistle at all times. Headlamps are essential to see and be seen. Take care when crossing roads and parking lots. Watch out for other runners, cyclists, and trail/sidewalk users.ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT each and every family member who will be attending the orienteering event must fill in a Declaration of Health form. Parking along Victoria and in the Trout Lake Community Centre Parking lot.
Buses run up Victoria and Commercial, and Skytrain stops at Commercial/Nanaimo are approximately 1 km from the start.
Bike racks are a plenty around the community centre.
Start will be outside the Community Ice Rink, just off of Victoria and 19th.
