We're setting up a series of Scatter-O events! With scatter courses you need to visit all of the controls in any order as fast as you can. Compared to Score-O all the controls cost the same and there is no time limit (apart from course closure time). It is a series of 3 events, so you can practice, try different route planning techniques and see how you improve from event to event.

This event will include three different options for the Scatter-O: Beginner, Middle, and Long. Everyone will get the same map, and it will be up to you do visit only the set of controls for your chosen course length. Each longer course is a superset of the last. The Beginner course consists of controls with IDs in the 30s+40s, Middle adds the 50s and Long adds the 60s.

The start location is just south of the Robert Burnaby Outdoor Pool, right next to the main park parking lot.

Registration for this event will be done through the new membership registration system (Iterpodia / 2mev.com). Follow the course registration link to sign up for the event. If you have not already made an account or purchased your 2022 membership, you can do that here, first. If you face any issues or have feedback please let the team know at gvoc.membership@gmail.com

Please be aware that there is an off-leash dog park in the north part of the park that covers a portion of the course.

Last week there also was still quite a bit of ice on the trails. Temperatures should have been above freezing for long enough since then, but you may want to bring your crampons just in case.

Do it on your own
If you can't come out on Wednesday evening, you can do the courses on your own. The event is not available on MapRun6, but pin flags will stay out until Sunday January 23rd. Please register under the category 'Scatter DIY Virtual' to get an electronic copy of the map. Register here for the virtual course.
