Welcome to our 3rd Street Scramble. This area is in the Fraser Health Region for all of you who have been worried about crossing health boundaries. The area is around Willingdon on the west and Royal Oak Parkway on the east. You will be crossing Willingdon a couple of times so please only use the mandatory crossings which are all pedestrian controlled. I have marked the major roads as "Out of Bounds" but there are sidewalks you can use along the edges of them. Feel free to subtract your wait time at traffic lights from your final result when you email me.
Start and finish is on the edge of Forest Glen Park on Bond Street.
The map is an autogenerated map and I have used an option to make it more difficult to keep track of the lanes and roads. Some of you have mentioned that contours would be useful. For this map the north end of the map is significantly lower than the south end of the map. There is up and down on the course but no contours (sorry).
There are no pin flags and no social gathering for this event.
There is parking on Bond Street and a regular bus service to the start location. There are schools on the map so please be respectful if there are children on the sites.
Because our insurance policy requires that everyone who participates in a GVOC event is a member of the club, please email gvoc.membership@gmail.
Remember that these events are to be run/walked individually obeying all the social distancing recommendations currently in place. However, for your personal safety please let somebody know where you are and what you are doing. These are not sanctioned events; we don't retain any liability for participants. This is a do it at your own risk, training suggestion.
This event is available in MapRunF under “Select an Event > Canada > British Columbia > Vancouver > Street Series”. Once again the phone is the weak link in this system as it takes a moment to catch up with you as you pass through a control. However it will give you a track at the end to see where you went. GPS watch or timing device tracks can also be uploaded on the MapRunF website to compare your route to others.
