Ambleside Weekly Virtual Training
July 6th 2020 10:00am - July 12th 2020 11:00pm
Organizers: Chris Benn (Event Director), Dawn Mooney (Membership)
Map: Ambleside Park
This week's virtual training event will be at Ambleside Park
Two courses are on offer:
Long – this is in 2 parts because the course includes an extra bit at the western end which makes the map too long for a normal letter/A4 sized map.You will have to print two maps (part 1 and part 2). LANDSCAPE MODE - for correct scale
Short – this is most of the part 1 of the long course. LANDSCAPE MODE - for correct scale
Both courses are family friendly. Those who are running fast please be aware the seawall can be busy and is narrow in a couple of spots.

MapRunF
The Ambleside courses can be accessed in the MapRunF app under "Select an Event > Canada > British Columbia > Vancouver > Wednesday Evening Training". For instructions on setting up the phone app, see the pdf document "How to setup and run MapRunF". Note that if you have a phone that puts the GPS into sleep mode which causes issues when attempting to use it for this activity, there is another app called GPS Connected (for Android only) which can also be downloaded and used to lock the GPS to the satellites. Remember to unlock it when you have finished the course There is a "hub" control on the long course which has been set up correctly this week - you will punch control #7 twice. In addition the map on the phone app is slightly different to the printed map due to a geolocation problem with the Memorial Park section of the map. Use the printed map and everything should be fine.
