Description
Hot on the heels of World Orienteering Day is National Orienteering Week! Join us for this special WET to celebrate orienteering in Canada.
Schedule
6:15 pm: Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners
6:30 pm: Starts
8 pm: Course Closure - participants must report to the Finish before leaving.
Courses - Advanced, Intermediate, and Easier point-to-point courses. It is an urban park map so you will always be able to find your way back to the start/finish. There are some updates to the map - see if you recognize them!
Safety Precautions - Watch out for traffic and pedestrians on the Island and walkers, cyclists, and roller-bladers on the main bike paths along False Creek. Avoid the areas marked out-of-bounds and gardens marked in olive green. Generally, your route choices should avoid short-cuts through housing areas. Stay on major walkways.
Parking/Start/Finish Locations - There is some free parking on the island. Start and Finish is indicated by the pin on the map. It is at the base of the large hill near the Granville Island Hotel.
Post-Event Dining - to be arranged
