Byrne Creek Wednesday Evening Training
September 16th 2015 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Organizers: Elizabeth Krump (Event Director), Adam Woods (Assistant), Karen Lachance (Membership)
Map: Byrne Creek
Description
Please join us for an exciting course through Byrne Creek gully as the daylight fades. Please bring a headlamp and prepare to get wet and muddy if you choose the advanced option! This is my first time designing a course so I hope you enjoy!
Schedule
6:15 pm - Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners
6:30 pm - Starts begin for both courses
8:00 pm - Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish by Course Closure Time.
Courses:
Beginner - stays close to the trails, easy.
Advanced - contains off trail controls and options that may take you through the creek bed. Note that in some sections of the map, debris from the windstorm may make smaller paths more difficult to find. Be ready to take a good bearing.
Safety Precautions:
Bring your headlamp as the map is located in a forested area and will get dark faster under the tree cover. Prepare to get wet and muddy. Leg protection is advised as we will spend most of the time in the forested section of the map.
Parking/Start/Finish Locations:
We'll start/meet at Ron McLean Park just off Rumble Street. There is a small parking lot but we are also walking distance from Edmonds Skytrain.
Post-Event Dining:
