Thanks everyone for coming! It was a great summer weekend with plenty of adventure. Despite the sudden ferry service breakdown we were able to get almost everyone to the event.
Expert - Day 1, two splits connected into one ( from 2 to 4) the third control split missing... Follow the codes instead of control numbers.
--------------------------
Update at 9 pm. Friday
It is a go. The ferry will go to New Castle Island at 11:00, 12:00 and 1:00 ish. There will be one return to Nanaimo around 5 or 6 p.m. but there will be no return ferry to New Castle that evening. Ferry times on Sunday TBA.
The cafe on the island will be open until 8 p.m. It is suggested that you bring your own food as well. There probably won't be a ferry to the pub on Protection Island.
Posted 8 p.m. Friday
There has been a breakdown in negotiations between the ferry operator and the first nation.
There is no service to New Castle Island as of 9 p.m. Friday. Magnus and Andrea are on the island and are working on a
solution. Please check here for updates and pass the word along to your friends. We will update ASAP.
