Thanks everyone for coming! It was a great summer weekend with plenty of adventure. Despite the sudden ferry service breakdown we were able to get almost everyone to the event.

Expert - Day 1, two splits connected into one ( from 2 to 4) the third control split missing... Follow the codes instead of control numbers.

Results Day 2

Update at 9 pm. Friday

It is a go. The ferry will go to New Castle Island at 11:00, 12:00 and 1:00 ish. There will be one return to Nanaimo around 5 or 6 p.m. but there will be no return ferry to New Castle that evening. Ferry times on Sunday TBA.

The cafe on the island will be open until 8 p.m. It is suggested that you bring your own food as well. There probably won't be a ferry to the pub on Protection Island.

Posted 8 p.m. Friday

There has been a breakdown in negotiations between the ferry operator and the first nation.

There is no service to New Castle Island as of 9 p.m. Friday. Magnus and Andrea are on the island and are working on a

solution. Please check here for updates and pass the word along to your friends. We will update ASAP.

Celebrate midsummer on beautiful Newcastle Island, a short water taxi trip from Nanaimo harbor.

Two days of world class bushwhacking, camping and fun with friends.

You can attend either Saturday or Sunday or come for both days and enjoy camping on Newcastle Island! We have a group campsite booked. This event is not to be missed.
