Description
This is a Dogbone style orienteering course(controls are in pairs; if you do one control in a pair, you must do the other control of the pair next. paired controls are linked and have matching designators at each end eg. 5A on one side and 5B on the other. It does not matter which end of the pair you start from, as long as they are done together) In this event, the idea is to chose the shortest route as possible through all the dog bones. There is a shorter point-to-point course offered for those who want something easier.
Schedule
6:30 Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners
6:30 Starts begin for both courses
8:30 Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish by Course Closure Time.
Courses:
Short point to point course for those who do not want to do the dog bones.
Longer, more difficult Dog-bone course for those who desire a physical and mental challenge.
Safety Precautions:
No major roads to cross, and no headlamps needed, but bear in mind that this is a working campus with all the usual hazards, use caution.
