Description for this WET

Primary Organizers:

Event Director/Course Planner, Membership/Registrar, Trainer

Description

We will be running in the area of buildings just to the north of Deer Lake. When I checked the control sites on the weekend it was a bit slippery and damp. A change of shoes and socks is recommended.

Schedule

Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners from 6:15 pm

Starts begin at 6:30pm

Course closure is 8pm, participants must report to the Finish by Course Closure Time.

Courses:

Two courses will be offered, a short point to point and a more technical course with 4 loops. Participants can choose to complete as many loops as they would like. The 4 loops together create a 5km course.

Safety Precautions:

You will be crossing a few minor roads. Please dress reflectively and be aware of vehicles. One route choice will take you across Canada Way. PLEASE ONLY USE THE PEDESTRIAN OVERPASS TO CROSS.

Parking/Start/Finish Locations:

We will meet at the overhang on the northeast corner of the Shadbolt Centre. Park in the parking lot to the north of the Shadbolt centre (at the intersection of Deer Lake Avenue and Century Park Way). Please note that there is road construction in the area so give yourself a few extra minutes.

Post-Event Dining:

To be decided at the event
