Description
Thanks to everyone who came out on Wednesday, there was a great turnout. And we got to celebrate Oliver's first birthday!
Congratulations to Magnus who won the first annual Trout Lake Super Elite Challenge with a blistering time of 29:34. In his post race interview, Magnus was very gracious in commending his fellow competitors and dedicating his win to Oliver who was celebrating his first birthday. :) We'll see if he can defend his title next year!
The other TLSEC times were:
Sergio 34:00
Scott 34:30
Andrey 35:38
Louise 37:00
Schedule:
6:30 PM Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners
6:30 PM Starts begin
8:00 PM Course Closure, all participants must report to the Finish by Course Closure Time.
Courses:
There will be 2 courses offered, a shorter course for beginners/families (less than 2km)that just stays within the park and a longer course (around 4km) that will require crossing residential streets.
Note that there has been reconstruction in the community centre area of the map that has not been updated. This shouldn't cause confusion as I haven't placed any controls right there but be aware. There is a new small playground to the north of the tennis courts.
Safety Precautions:
As it is getting darker, remember your headlamp
Parking/Start/Finish Locations:
Start and finish will be at the entrance to the Trout Lake Community Centre, 3360 Victiria Drive. There is a small covered area to stay dry and lots of bike racks. There is also a parking lot there.
