Map: Cates Park

This will be a "dog bones" format event, so as to make good use of a smaller park. Most people will cover about 4 km to do all the "bones". There will also be a short point-to-point course offered for newbies. The shoreline is  scenic and has views south to Burrard Inlet.

From the north end of  Second Narrows Bridge, travel about 5 km eastwards on Dollarton Highway, turn right to enter the park and continue downhill to the parking lot  near the boat launch. Meet at the covered picnic shelter near the water.

You will have "sprung forward" the weekend before the event, so sunset will be about 7:00 p.m.. Staggered starts from 6:30 p.m.. Headlamps will still be useful for all but the speediest early starters. Sign up by Tuesday evening to make sure there is a map for you.

The ancestral name for the park is Whey-ah-Whichen, which means "facing the wind". For further details on this park see  Deep Cove Information.
