Prince of Wales Bingo Score-O Wednesday Evening Training
July 9th 2025 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Organizer: Dawn Lessowai (Event Director)
Map: Prince of Wales
Join me at a Score-O with a twist. Or two.
Beginners: a route through the neighbourhood with a path to follow.
Intermediate: Score-O
Instead of making your own route right off the bat, you'll get a random number via a bingo machine. This number will coincide with a flag control number which will be your start. From this point you will then choose your own path to get to as many controls as you can before time runs out.
Challenge level: Constricted Score-O with a Bingo twist
Start at a control determined by the Bingo machine just like the intermediate course, however the flag will have a number. This number indicates the next control, the second flag will have the 3rd control number etc. You are allowed one "cheat" capture. See how many flags you can find before time runs out.
Wednesday Evening Training
- What should I bring? Wear something comfortable that you don't mind getting a little dirty! If it's wet outside, you might want to consider a change of shoes and socks! A headlamp or flashlight and reflective clothing is critical in the winter months (late September to April). A compass is optional (we have extra ones for borrowing). For added safety, a whistle is mandatory for all GVOC events. Read more in the WET Introduction to Orienteering.
When should I sign up? Please sign up by Tuesday night so that we can print enough maps, although we have extra maps if you forget.
How much does it cost? All WETs are free with yearly membership.
Club membership: See details on the club home page. Please complete before your first event!
