Organizer: Dawn Lessowai (Event Director)

Map: Prince of Wales

Join me at a Score-O with a twist…. or two. Updated Saturday July 5th 3pm. 4170 Trafalgar St.

Beginners: a route through the neighbourhood with a path to follow (child friendly as it will stay on school property and not cross any roads).

Score-O Bingo Style

Please note that the map is crossed by a busy road (25th Ave aka King Edward Ave). Traffic is divided by thick grassy centre medians which are a safe place to wait for traffic. Warning: cars can go fast on this bendy road and might not be able to see you. Please look up from your map and look around before you cross.

Key Information: Bingo card letter/number combinations are written on the flags, not the control/map, i.e. you must get to the flag to find the corresponding control/bingo combination. Careful - there are dummy flags, so pay attention to the controls.

Disclaimer: every effort has been made to have correct controls. The roads here are all curvy and don't follow N/S so a flag might be slightly off compass, e.g. NW instead of N etc. I'm doing this event to practice, not to confuse you :)

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Start by Rolling the Bingo Machine

  • Roll the bingo machine to receive one free bingo number. No, you don't get to keep it :)
  • This number will determine your starting control point. Check in with me to find out which control number matches your bingo number. Keep it a secret so that others are forced to run there themselves.
  • Start at your designated control point. From there, you are free to go to any control (see below for the bingo card strategy).

2. At Each Control Point

  • Each control will have a flag displaying a bingo number.
  • Use the pencil provided to write the control number in the corresponding square on your bingo card (found on the back of your map).
  • I will verify your matches when you return.
  • Try to get a bingo win (see details below)

Prizes & Challenge Levels

Prizes are awarded based on both difficulty and speed. The first person to complete each level wins that category IF their numbers match the controls on my master list.

Level One – Blackout (Easiest)

  • First to return with a correctly matched full card (blackout) wins.
  • Last person to return with a correctly matched blackout before 8 PM also wins a prize — because persistence counts too!

Level Two – Diagonal Bingo

  • First to correctly complete an X pattern across both diagonals on the bingo card.

Level Three – Single Line

  • First to complete a valid line in any direction: horizontal, vertical, or diagonal - five squares in total.

Level Evil – Starting Point Challenge (Hardest)

  • Create a valid line that must include your starting control. Horizontal, vertical or diagonal (corner to corner). A line must have five squares.
  • Blackouts do not count for this challenge :P

Level Tetris

  • First person back to create at least two Tetris blocks on the bingo card.
  • Each Tetris shape must have a minimum of 3 squares
  • Tetri pieces can touch but must not overlap
