Organizer: Sergio Fernández (Event Director)

Map: Simon Fraser University

It's time to get back to SFU and explore so much that has changed. This time we will cover all that we have mapped, but some areas will not be updated.

Now about the fun format we will have this time! It'll be a Battle-O, meaning that teams will head out to collect points (score-O style) and gather as many as they can. Strategy will be a major component of the game since whoever gets first to a control, gets more points! Route choice and team coordination will be the keys for success. So being fast does not mean that you'll be the first to visit most of your controls, in the same way that being slow does not mean you'll get the lowest points either.

However, this wouldn't be a battle if there was no conflict in there. So, the teams will also get the opportunity to steal points from other teams, so there will be strategy too.

The plan for the event would be:

6:30pm finalize teams and give instructions.

6:45pm Mass start

7:45pm End of Battle-O and calculation of the final scoring for the teams.

7:55pm Epic celebration of the survivors of the first GVOC Battle-O and head to SFU dining hall for an all-you-can-eat dinner.

Notes for beginners, this format will be even more flexible than other traditional point-to-point events, so you are all encouraged to join us!

See you all soon!
