QE Park - Memory Score O. Wednesday Evening Training
January 15th 2020 6:45pm - 7:30pm
Organizers: Mike Rascher (Event Director), Holly Hendrigan (Assistant)
Map: Queen Elizabeth Park
Description
Start/Finish at top of park beside the fountain.
30 minute Memory Score-O - no running with maps - leave them at the top. SI timing - bring your SI stick. 25 controls with the same number of points per control. The map will actually have a point to point course (not optimal) on it that we may run after the score-o completes if the weather isn't too horrible (snow not rain).
The ground was soft, wet and mushy last Saturday before the snow hit. By Tuesday evening it had still not frozen completely solid and some water is still draining out of the ground in places. Be prepared for wet feet and take it easy. Some paths have flagging and signs explaining it can be very slippery when wet and to use extreme caution. Some paved paths were cleared of snow - others not. All the roads and the parking lot at the top were plowed Tuesday evening - expecting the same treatment this evening.
Given the poor weather there is no beginner course at this event - sorry.
Please ensure you've registered with the club for the year at zone4 before coming out.
Schedule
6:45pm Mass start - or soon after once the course is set up and SI sticks distributed.
8:00 pm Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish before leaving.
