Map: Deep Cove
Courses wind through forested parks, ball fields, around schools, and along beaches. The Elite (4.1 km) and Expert (2.8 km) courses emphasize route choice and transitioning from trail to forest navigation. The Elite and Expert courses are more technical and hilly than usual so make sure you start early! The intermediate (2.5 km) course has some route choice and typically stays on trail/road. The beginner (1.8 km) course is geared towards building confidence and having a good time. It stays on roads and trails. Come out for a mid-week training before Sage Stomp!
6:15pm Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners
8pm Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish before leaving.
Always use good judgement and common sense. Carry a whistle at all times.
Parking near the start/finish is available along Rockcliff road. The start and finish are located at the east end of the field just to the southeast of the Deep Cove Kayak Centre (see the map below). A covered picnic shelter is available for for pre- and post-race mingling!
Without volunteers, these events cannot take place. A hearty thanks to all those helping put this event on. If you would like to volunteer/help at upcoming WETs/WJRs or would like to organize a WET please let us know.
