Thanks for the great turn-out. Nice to see so many families and new-comers coming out (or coming back). Sorry about the hill-climbs (I did warn you...)

I think I got most of the times right but it was a bit chaotic at some points! Thanks to all the excellent assistants.

I may have added or subtracted 1 hour by mistake - let me know if so and you want it corrected.

Description

A typical Queen Elizabeth Park point-to-point course, with a few laps around the park and a few (not too many) over-the-top legs...

Sign up by Tuesday 6pm to reserve a map.

Schedule

6:15 pm - 6:30pm : New member sign-up and Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners

6:30 pm - 7:15pm : Starts begin for both courses

8:00 pm : Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish by Course Closure Time.

Courses:

Two courses offered: One shorter, with easier controls - suitable for beginners, including WAV attendees. The other longer with a few trickier controls (as much as they can be in QE Park!)

Safety Precautions:

Watch for cars along park roads. If it's sunny, park will be crowded so please be careful and respectful along narrow paths and at blind spots. No crossing over flower beds.

Parking/Start/Finish Locations:

Start and Finish at shelters in plaza at the top of the park, south of the Conservatory.

Paid parking at car park at top, or free along park roads lower down. Bus and SkyTrain stops along Cambie.

Post-Event Dining:

TBD
