Roche Point - North Vancouver Weekly Virtual Training

A fun map with something for everyone and a lot of salmon berries right now :-)!
Two courses are on offer:
1) "Shortish" - Simple, short, and family-friendly.
2) "Longish" - Yes, I make you run around a bunch, and yes, there will be some steep off-trail work to do :-).
School is now out so feel to run this any time of the day. (The map includes an Elementary School. North Vancouver schools are in session. Please DO NOT run this course during school hours 8 AM - 4 PM Monday to Friday!) This map needs to be printed Landscape Mode to fit the area correctly. Also see the note below if you plan on using the phone app.
Parking is available in the by Sherwood Park Elementary, the Start/Finish is in the playing field at the end of Dollar Road.

Because our insurance policy requires that everyone who participates in a GVOC event be a member of the club, please email gvoc.membership@gmail.com for a pdf copy of the event map and the password for this event.
Remember that these events are to be run/walked individually, obeying all the social distancing recommendations currently in place. However, for your personal safety please let somebody know where you are, and what you are doing. These are not sanctioned events; we don't retain any liability for participants. This is a do-at-your-own-risk, training suggestion.
MapRunF
The Roche Point Park course can be accessed in the MapRunF app under "Select an Event > Canada > British Columbia > Vancouver >Wednesday Evening Training ". For instructions on setting up the phone app, see the pdf document "How to setup and run MapRunF". Note that if you have an android phone that puts the GPS into sleep mode which causes issues when attempting to use it for this activity, there is another app called GPS Connected which can also be downloaded and used to lock the GPS to the satellites. Remember to unlock it when you have finished the course.
Warning: These courses include a hub control which may result in additional beeping when you pass through it as it attempts to register both instances of the control. Just stay calm and carry on. (from Robyn: I couldn't stay calm it beeped so much so I uploaded new courses without the hub control. Your printed map will have a hub, your phone app won't. Both options will work fine)
