Organizers: Adam Woods (Event Director), Joanne Woods (Controller)

Description

The week's WET will be in the challenging forest terrain of Ioco. It will be a great opportunity for people to gain further forest experience.

However, the challeging nature of the terrain is not appropriate for beginners.
As such we ask any first time orienteers not to attend this WET and will not be providing compasses to borrow.
We will also be sending participants out in paris.

Schedule

6:15pm Starts

8:00 pm Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish before leaving.

Courses

Both courses will have a ~600 m jog along a marked (trail) route to the start /back to the cars. (This distance is included in the distance estimations

The Expert course is designed for those looking to gain forest experience. It is designed for those hoping to walk + check off each feature they come across.

The Elite is for experienced forest orienteers looking to to run a forest sprint/ very short middle.

Safety Precautions

As this is a slightly more remote location that normal, you will not be allowed out without a whistle. Please consider wear a watch and keep an eye on the time as the gate closes at 9 pm. Always use good judgement and common sense.

Parking/Start Location:

We're meeting in the Woodhaven Swamp parking lot (a different location to previous event on the Ioco map). Approach along Tum Tumay Whueton Dr and, turn left into the parking lot just after crossing a cross walk.

Post-Event Dining

The most convenient post event dining locations are in the area around Port Moody City Hall.
