Description

Join us on this newly-updated map that hasn't been used for a while. Expect lots of controls, and fun contour/vegetation detail.

Schedule

6:15pm Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners

6:30pm First start

6:45pm Mass start for those on the advanced course

8:00 pm Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish before leaving.

Courses

The novice course is all on-trail and is suitable for beginners.

The advanced course consists of up to 3 loops (you can run 1 or 2 loops if you prefer). Expect to go off-trail. A compass might be useful. Shoes with good grip are strongly recommended.

Safety Precautions

Always use good judgement and common sense. Carry a whistle at all times. Headlamps are essential to see and be seen. Take care when crossing roads and parking lots. Watch out for other runners, cyclists, and trail/sidewalk users.

Parking/Start Location:

Meet outside the main entrance to Delbrook community centre, under the canopy at the NW corner of the building.

Park in the community centre parking lots. There is more parking underneath the community centre if the surface lots are full.

Post-Event Dining

Two Lions Public House is close by.
