Mark your calendars orienteers!
The 2006 GVOC team fundraiser will be on Sunday May 7, 2006.
Proceeds from the event will help GVOC members attend the world orienteering
championships in Denmark in August 2006.

Meet at the gravel parking lot in Vanier Park. The training course will be open from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. The race will start at 10:30 am, with individual starts. The training course will be about 3-4 km, and the race will be 4-5 km in length.

Directions <<
From Chestnut street and Whyte avenue, go east on Whyte avenue, past the space centre. The parking lot is on the right hand side, opposite the archives (see map below)

Timing <<
We will use the sport ident timing system for the race. Please bring your SI stick if you have one (you can borrow on from us too). There will be small orienteering flags for the training course.

Route gadget <<
Want to compare your route choice with others? We will input the course and all the splits into a website featuring the Route Gadget software. If everyone draws their route choise, the website can simulate the race as if it was a mass start.

Check it out at http://rg.orienteering.ca

Fees <<
$10 for adults, $5 for juniors (19 and under)

Registration <<
Please register on the GVOC website before Saturday May 6th at 6:32 pm, so
that I can prepare enough maps.

Hope to see you all there!
Thomas
