Description

Time to burn off that Halloween candy!!!

This week's WET at Prince of Wales Park! There will be 4 courses available for runners. The Beginner course consists of 2.4km with moderate climb. It is simple Point-to-Point with 15 controls with some easy route-choices. The Intermediate course is slightly more hilly and has 2.5km of route-choice throughout the 15 controls. It is similar to the Beginner course but is more technical. The Advanced course presents 4.3km of climb and route-choice. There are 25 controls. Finally, the Ultra Long course consists of two loops. runners will be running both the Intermediate and the Long resulting in 6.8km of challenge. These courses focus on making quick route-choices and introduce new orienteerers to this wonderful, beneficial sport.

6:15pm Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners

6:30pm Starts

8pm Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish before leaving.

Courses

This WET presents 4 courses. Beginner, Intermediate, Long and the Ultra Long.

Safety Precautions

Carry a whistle at all times. Use extreme caution when crossing the roads. No Frogger please.

Parking/Start/Finish Locations

There is parking at Safeway and at a smaller mall with a Chevron in it. Street parking can also be found in the vicinity. The start is at the Prince of Wales Mini School under an undercover area.

Post-Event dining
Unfortunately, candy will not be supplied, it's not Halloween anymore. However, there is a great variety of food offered by nearby restaurants.
