Description

Schedule

6:15 pm - Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners

6:30 pm - Starts begin for both courses

8:00 pm - Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish by Course Closure Time.

Courses:

The short course is geared towards beginners with just enough elevation gain and use of the area's natural corridors to give you a decent taste of the Grousewoods area.

The long course takes you on a grand tour with a few opportunities for route choice. Even though it's only 4km, there should be enough climbing to give you at least a bit of a workout.

Please respect all private property! Do not enter or cut corners through any gardens, driveways or flowerbeds. We want to maintain a good reputation in this area. Some trail entries/exits are very close to driveways or backyards. Olive green on the map stands for private.

Safety Precautions:

You will be running on residential streets with some traffic. Stay on the sidewalks whenever possible and be cautious while crossing.

Parking/Start/Finish Locations:

The Start/Finish will be located at the service building by the soccer field in Cleveland Park. Bathrooms and a water fountain are available on site. I was informed by a local that the bathrooms are generally open until sunset. Parking is free in the park's parking lot as well as along Nancy Greene way.

Post-Event Dining:

TBD.
