Description

A Goat is a mass start long orienteering course where each runner is allowed to skip one control. The course is planned so that there are many choices for the skip and it's not easy to tell what is the best one.

Skip rule for this WET: Men skip 1 control, Women skip 2 (but not consequitive).

Note that the Long Goat is already long for a WET and intended for the regular WET crowd. Extreme Goat course is designed to be the longest and physically toughest WET ever. It has massive climb and several scrambles up and down the ravine. Keep in mind that you must report to the finish by 8:15 pm. If you have started the Extreme Goat and time is starting to run out, you must abandon the course and return to the finish by 8:15 pm.

Schedule

6:15pm - Introduction to Orienteering for Beginners

6:45pm - Mass start

8:15pm - Course Closure, participants must report to the Finish by Course Closure Time.

Courses:

Three courses are offered: Short Goat for beginners, Long Goat for regular WET participants and Extreme Goat for the ultra hard-core.

Parking/Start/Finish Locations:

Start and Finish at Cleveland Dam.

Post-Event Dining:

Probably Whole Foods at Park Royal
