The rain stopped earlier in the day, but started again in time for the event clearing to a moonlit sky by the finish.

Running without a map can be a challenge, but a few runners took to it quite naturally.

Start the year with something unusual - a Memory-O. This is much like a Score-O but you can't bring the map with you. Memorize a few controls, run a loop finding a further control location at each control which is logged on another map when you return to verify that you've visited the control. Don't worry, we'll go over that before the start.

We have to sort out annual registrations, so meet at 6:30 pm with a mass start about 6:45 pm.

Meet under the shelters tween the fountain and the parking lot on the top of the park. Free parking on the loop road in the park, but not at the top or beside the restaurant.

George recommends Hillcrest Community Centre just NE of the park which has public washrooms inside for runners. Parking is free east and south of the Centre.
